What do I do in this protocol?
This protocol helps you record observations of clouds where you are.
In this process you will:
1) Download the GLOBE Observer app.
2) Create and log into your GLOBE account.
3) Record cloud observations whenever you want, wherever you are using the app!
What do I need to participate?
The GLOBE observer app: Download the free “GLOBE Observer” application. Once the application is downloaded select the “GLOBE Clouds” image.
A GLOBE account: Create/register a new account if you do not have one already. Under heading “New GLOBE Citizen Scientists” enter your email address and country. Under “referral” enter SciStarter. Once you receive your password email, return to the app and log in.
How do I do it?
Follow the in-application instructions to make a “New Cloud Observation”. The app will walk you through how to do this successfully, with a very easy interactive picture function that helps you capture a North, South, East, West, Up and Down view.
Coordinate your observation with the time a satellite passes over your site to make the data even more helpful to NASA.
Have fun. Participate often!
